Why choose this journey

The Mandarin Oriental Wangfujing is ideal for travelers seeking an intimate, contemporary, and exceptionally central address to discover imperial heritage. Its very spacious rooms, terraces, and views of the Forbidden City create a particularly romantic experience, while the spa and pool offer immediate tranquility after sightseeing. Direct access to WF Central also facilitates shopping and dining. This hotel should be prioritized for its panoramic and urban luxury; the Mandarin Oriental Qianmen will be more suitable for travelers seeking immersion in the historic hutongs.

The Mandarin Oriental Wangfujing, Beijing occupies the upper floors of WF Central, in the heart of the capital’s main shopping district. Opened on March 18, 2019, this boutique hotel offers remarkable perspectives of the Forbidden City from its rooms, restaurants, and terraces. Its contemporary decor incorporates discreet references to Imperial China, as well as a spectacular fish-shaped lighting fixture created by Frank Gehry.

The establishment features only 73 rooms and suites, ranging from 55 to 260 sqm. Designed by Hirsch Bedner Associates, the interiors combine wood, warm tones, residential furniture, bay windows, and marble bathrooms with underfloor heating. The 260 sqm Presidential Suite boasts a 300 sqm private terrace overlooking the rooftops of the Forbidden City.

The Spa at Mandarin Oriental includes four treatment suites and has received the Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star distinction for six consecutive years. A 25-meter indoor pool illuminated by a skylight, a 24-hour fitness center, and yoga and tai chi sessions complete the offering. Treatments include signature massages, body rituals, facials, and personalized programs.

Dining options include Café Zi, dedicated to Cantonese and regional Chinese cuisines, and Mandarin Grill, a contemporary New York-inspired steakhouse. The MO Bar combines cocktails, light bites, and a panoramic terrace facing the Forbidden City, while The Library offers a more intimate atmosphere. The Mandarin Cake Shop completes the selection with pastries, chocolates, and sweet creations.
