Hotel Santa Caterina occupies a white villa perched on the cliffside, approximately 700 meters from the historic center of Amalfi. The Gambardella family’s history in local hospitality began in 1870, before the current establishment opened in 1904 with just six rooms. Still managed by the descendants of its founders, the hotel has preserved the atmosphere of a private residence surrounded by terraces, lemon groves, olive trees, pines, bougainvillea, and Mediterranean gardens that descend gradually toward the sea.

The establishment now features 72 rooms and suites, distributed between the main villa and several annexes integrated into the estate. The interiors combine classic Italian furniture, luminous fabrics, marble bathrooms, and hand-painted Vietri majolica floors. Balconies, terraces, and private gardens typically open onto the Mediterranean or the lush vegetation. The most exclusive accommodations include the Follia Amalfitana suite and the Chalet Giulietta e Romeo, while Casa Marchesa offers twelve additional units, a three-bedroom villa, and a 36-meter swimming pool.

At the foot of the cliff, the private Beach Club is accessible via the gardens and elevators carved into the rock. It includes an outdoor saltwater pool, direct access to the sea, solariums, sun loungers, umbrellas, changing rooms, and shower areas. The wellness offering features a spa providing facial and body treatments, a sauna, a steam bath, and the signature Oro di Amalfi massage, performed with lemon-infused oil. A sea-facing fitness room also allows for workouts overlooking the coast.

The gastronomy is organized around several complementary experiences. The Glicine restaurant, led by Chef Giuseppe Stanzione, holds one Michelin star and offers a contemporary interpretation of Mediterranean and Campanian flavors. At the Beach Club level, Al Mare serves fish, regional specialties, and artisanal pizzas cooked in a wood-fired oven. The Senzafine rooftop combines a Mediterranean grill and sushi bar, while La Terrazza and Il Grottino host cocktails and aperitivi facing the sea. The hotel also holds two Michelin Keys, awarded to stays considered exceptional.
