Why choose this journey

The Sukhothai Bangkok is ideal for travellers seeking the character and serenity of a Thai resort without leaving the city centre. Its gardens, lotus ponds and low-rise buildings create a far more intimate atmosphere than the large contemporary towers, while Sathorn, Silom and Lumphini remain easily accessible. Couples will particularly appreciate the spa, the pool, dinners at Celadon and the calm of the gardens. With its Two Michelin Keys, the address remains above all an excellent choice for those who favour Thai elegance, gastronomy and a romantic ambience over spectacular or ostentatious luxury.

The The Sukhothai Bangkok spans nearly six acres of tropical gardens in the Sathorn district, just minutes from Lumphini Park. Designed as a collection of low-rise pavilions rather than a tower, the hotel draws inspiration from the ancient capital of Sukhothai through lotus ponds, stupas, carved stone and architecture notably by Ed Tuttle. Teak, Thai silks and celadon ceramics enhance this deeply local atmosphere.

The property features 210 rooms and suites, spread between the Main Wing and the Sukhothai Club Wing. Interiors blend dark wood, Jim Thompson textiles, natural tones and large bathrooms, while recent renovations have modernised some accommodations without erasing their Thai identity. The Club Wing adds a more contemporary interpretation, along with a private lounge overlooking the pool and gardens.

The The Sukhothai Spa now offers a comprehensive programme combining massages, facials, hammam, sauna, steam, yoga, Pilates, meditation and personalised support. It includes a Presidential Spa Suite and six double treatment rooms, while the large outdoor pool bordered by gardens is one of the hotel’s signature spaces. This combination of greenery, water and low-rise architecture gives the estate a true resort atmosphere in the heart of the city.

Gastronomy remains one of the property’s signatures. Celadon, set in a traditional pavilion by a pond, offers refined Thai cuisine and is listed in the Michelin Guide; La Scala serves contemporary Italian cuisine, also recognised by the Guide. Colonnade is particularly renowned for its Sunday brunch, while Zuk Bar extends the evenings with cocktails and a livelier ambience.
