Opened on June 29, 2013, the hotel is located just steps from Jing’an Temple and the Shanghai Exhibition Centre. Spread from the 30th to the 59th floor, the 508 rooms and suites feature floor-to-ceiling windows and marble bathrooms with heated floors. Sizes start at approximately 42 m² and reach 311 m² for the Shangri-La Suite, located on the 57th floor with views of Puxi and Pudong. The Horizon Club Lounge, situated on the 55th floor, offers personalized services in a panoramic setting.

The Chi, The Spa offers massages, body treatments, and holistic rituals inspired by Chinese and Asian traditions. The Health Club includes a 25-meter heated indoor pool, a whirlpool, a sauna, a steam room, and a 24-hour fitness center.
