Why choose this journey

Palazzina Grassi caters to travelers seeking a different Venetian experience—more contemporary, intimate, and lifestyle-oriented than traditional grand historic hotels. Its limited number of rooms, design entirely by Philippe Starck, and discreet location near the Grand Canal give it a particularly strong identity. Couples will appreciate the suites with terraces, the cozy spaces, and the views over the rooftops or the canal, while art lovers can easily reach Palazzo Grassi, Punta della Dogana, and the main events of the Biennale. The restaurant, lounge, terrace, and evenings organized during major events allow guests to enjoy a lively atmosphere without leaving the establishment. Its private pier is a real advantage in Venice, facilitating water taxi transfers and offering a particularly spectacular arrival.

The Palazzina Grassi is hidden behind the facade of a 16th-century historic residence, in the peaceful San Samuele district, a few steps from Palazzo Grassi and the Grand Canal. The first Italian hotel entirely conceived by Philippe Starck, the establishment breaks with the classic decor of grand Venetian hotels by combining mirrors, light marble, sculptural furniture, Murano glass, and references to carnival masks. Its deliberately intimate and theatrical atmosphere evokes a contemporary private residence more than a traditional palace.

The hotel has only 25 rooms and suites, including five suites, which guarantees a much more confidential experience than that offered by the large addresses of the lagoon. The accommodations combine white tones, mirrored panels, chrome elements, and custom creations by Philippe Starck. Some suites directly overlook the Grand Canal, while several rooms and Junior Suites have a private terrace overlooking the rooftops of Venice. The Penthouse Grand Canal Suite is arranged over two levels, while the Signature Grand Canal Suite offers high ceilings and vast openings onto the waterway.

Gastronomy revolves around Palazzina The Restaurant, where the open kitchen allows guests to observe the chefs preparing Italian and Venetian dishes reinterpreted with a contemporary spirit. The decor brings together historic columns, mirrors, and Murano glass chandeliers, creating an atmosphere that is both spectacular and convivial. The Lounge offers a more intimate ambiance facing the Grand Canal, while The Terrace, open during the warmer months, forms a suspended garden above the rooftops. Breakfast is served until noon, and room service remains available twenty-four hours a day.

During major Venetian events, notably the Biennale, Carnival, or the Film Festival, the restaurant can transform into Palazzina The Club, with DJ sets, dinners, private parties, and events frequented by an international clientele. The hotel also has a private pier allowing direct arrival by water taxi from the airport, train station, or Piazzale Roma. Its central location allows guests to walk to Teatro La Fenice, the Accademia Bridge, St. Mark’s Square, and the Rialto Bridge, while staying in a quieter, more residential part of the San Marco Sestiere.
