ROKU KYOTO, LXR Hotels & Resorts is located at the foot of the Takagamine mountains, in the northern and verdant part of Kyoto. Opened on September 16, 2021, it was the first LXR Hotels & Resorts property in the Asia-Pacific region and Hilton’s first address in Kyoto. The resort is situated within the Shozan Resort Kyoto estate, known for its Japanese gardens, tea houses, and historic architecture, close to the Golden Pavilion Kinkaku-ji and the Koetsu-ji and Genko-an temples.

The property comprises 114 rooms and suites, decorated as a contemporary interpretation of a Japanese artist’s residence. The project pays tribute to Hon’ami Kōetsu, artist, calligrapher, and tea master associated with the birth of the Rinpa school in this part of Kyoto. Wood, lacquer, bamboo, ceramics, karakami paper, and references to traditional washi papermaking compose refined interiors opening onto the mountains and gardens. Garden Deluxe rooms feature a private thermal bath, while Poolside Deluxe rooms allow direct access to the thermal pool from their terrace.

THE ROKU SPA is organized around an outdoor thermal pool fed by a natural hot spring from the Shozan estate. Open year-round, this 25-meter pool allows guests to bathe facing the Takagamine landscapes, even during the cooler seasons. The spa also includes three treatment cabins, including a double cabin with thermal bath, as well as a fitness center accessible twenty-four hours a day. Yoga, meditation, and treatments inspired by Kitayama cedar extend this approach deeply connected to the local nature.

Dining is primarily centered at TENJIN, whose name refers to the river running through the estate. The restaurant offers contemporary French cuisine built around seasonal Kyoto products, with an all-day dining space, a Chef’s Table, and a bar. Cocktails crafted with local ingredients, afternoon tea, and an engawa-style indoor terrace allow guests to enjoy the changing landscape throughout the seasons. The hotel also organizes cultural experiences devoted to kintsugi, ceramics, washi paper, and guided pilgrimages to neighboring temples.
